Cerebral Palsy of Ulster County Receives Accreditation
Cerebral Palsy of Ulster County has received Counsel of Quality Leadership (CQL) Accreditation. CQL is OPWDD’s most desired national accreditation. Agencies who become accredited are vetted to ensure that the organization is dedicated to the definition, measurement and improvement of personal quality of life for people receiving human services and supports. Our staff spent hundreds of hours preparing for the audit. The audit itself lasted four eight hour days and half of today. It involved interviews with people that we serve, reviews of records and policies, development of outcomes that will drive person centered planning and meetings with leadership to review our commitment to the process.
There are approximately 400 agencies state-wide that provide residential services. Of this group only 29 agencies (8%) have achieved accreditation. At the end of the process we earned a four year accreditation and high praise for the quality of our services, governance and training.
