Intermediate Care Facilities – (ICF)

The Agency operates four ICFs, three of which serve adults and one which serves children. This Medicaid-funded program provides individuals with developmental disabilities, who have severe physical, medical and intellectual deficits, with an intensive level of supervision, physical assistance and training. Individual Service Plans are developed for each person. The comprehensive Individual Service Plan is based on clinical assessments of the individual’s strengths and needs in the areas of: medical, psychological, communication, social skills, occupational therapy, physical therapy, self-care skills, and independent living skills.

Home and Community Based Waiver Services - (IRA)

The Agency operates Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRA) for people with disabilities. This program enables people to live as independently as possible with supports provided based on the individual’s needs.

Koenig Residence - (IRA)

The Koenig Residence serves individuals with developmental disabilities who need supervision and training primarily in the area of independent living skills. These individuals may also, due to their level of physical disabilities, require physical assistance from staff in some of their personal care or in activities of daily living. The Koenig Residence is licensed as an Individualized Residential Alternative and is located in Kingston.

Keresman Apartments - (IRA)

The Keresman Apartment Program serves adults living in individual apartment units who have achieved a significant level of independence. Staff provide these individuals with the level of assistance, oversight and guidance they require based on their independent living skill needs. Twenty-four hour supervision is not provided in the Keresman Apartments. Individual Services Plans are developed for individuals living in the apartments which are also based on comprehensive assessments of their strengths and needs. Many of the services identified in this plan may be provided by other service providers including such services as: occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy or individual counseling.

The Keresman Apartments are considered Individualized Residential Alternatives. There are 8 apartments located in Lake Katrine (just north of Kingston, close to shopping, movies, and restaurants).

Case Management

The Residential Program provides comprehensive case management services to individuals in the community who need assistance with accessing services in the community. The residential program will continue to grow with the needs of people with disabilities.

Case Management Staff meet all the necessary qualifications according to the New York State Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities and the New York State Department of Education.
