Free Developmental Screenings are held at the Community Rehabilitation Center in Lake Katrine. A team of specialists will screen children from infancy to 5 years of age to detect delays in speech, language, behavior, coordination, or general physical development. Please arrange for an appointment by calling the Community Rehabilitation Center at (845) 338-4556.
Screening:
Children under 5 are screened to determine if further evaluation is warranted.
Who should be screened:
Any child, birth to five, displaying characteristics or behaviors such as:
| Difficulty sucking or swallowing; | |
| Too much or too little activity; | |
| Doesn't like to be touched; | |
| Vision or hearing problems; | |
| Difficulty picking up objects; | |
| Is not talking; | |
| Fells stiff or floppy to touch; | |
| Talks differently than other children; or | |
| Is not rolling, sitting, walking or moving like other children the same age |
