Our homes are located in both suburban and rural locations.
Cerebral Palsy of Ulster County has long history of providing residential options to the developmentally disabled for over twenty years. We offer the continuum of support levels of an Intermediate Care Facility (ICF), Individual Alternative Residence (IRA), Supportive Apartments and ISS.
Intermediate Care Facilities – (ICF)
The Agency operates four ICFs, three of which serve adults and one which provides services to children. Our homes are located in Ellenville, Saugerties, Kingston, and New Paltz. Each of these programs are co-ed facilities and most consumers have their own rooms. These residential programs provide 24 hour care to consumers who have severe physical, medical, intellectual and behavioral disabilities. Our ICF’s have a high level of staff to consumer ratios to ensure that each consumer has the individualized support that they need to thrive and live a full life. Individual Plans (CFA) are developed for each person using a person centered approach involving all members of the Circle of Support.
The Agency operates several Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRA) for people with a variety of disabilities. This program enables people to live as independently as possible with support provided based on the individual’s needs. Each of these programs are detailed below.
The Koenig Residence is an Individualized Residential Alternative that is staffed 24 hours a day. The program serves individuals with developmental disabilities who need supervision and training primarily in the area of independent living and vocational skills. These individuals may also, due to their level of physical disabilities, require physical assistance from staff in some of their personal care or in activities of daily living. The Koenig Residence is licensed as an Individualized Residential Alternative and is located in Kingston.
Lewis C. Kirschner Residence
The Kirschner Residence, located in Kerhonkson NY is an eight bed IRA that is staffed 24 hours a day. The co-ed program provides services to consumers some of whom are employed in the area while others attend our Day Treatment program. Kirschner consumers are well known in the local community and active participants in community events throughout the year.
The Keresman Apartment Program serves adults living in individual apartment units who have achieved a significant level of independence. The co-ed program is staffed during the daytime and evening hours through 11:00pm. Almost all Keresman residents are employed in the local community. Our staff provide these individuals with the level of assistance, oversight and guidance they require based on their independent living skill needs.
